Professional Experience:
Doug is a vice president in the firm’s tax practice and brings 30 years of tax consulting experience to his clients. Prior to joining Caturano and Company, Doug served as a tax partner for Coopers & Lybrand.

Doug specializes in tax concerns of dynamic, growing companies and their owners. With his background in state, federal, and international taxation, Doug works with his clients to understand their short- and long-term goals and helps them develop a strategy to achieve those goals. With his experience in assisting clients with tax and business considerations of acquisitions, Doug helps companies structure themselves to meet their objectives. In the environment of ever-changing tax regulations, Doug leads the development of the strategic plan to achieve corporate objectives in a tax-efficient manner and monitors events to ensure that the plan stays on course. Doug and the tax team deliver a proactive, sophisticated planning approach to managing the current tax issues clients face today and will face tomorrow.

Doug has lectured on various tax matters and has served as Adjunct Professor for the Suffolk University School of Management in International Tax. Doug has served as chair of the State Taxation Committee of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA). In 2006, he was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Task Force and submitted comments for the Treasury Department on new regulations on the new deferred compensation rules. Doug sits on the Board and is Treasurer of Jewish Vocational Service (JVS), an organization dedicated to training workers in skills that enable them to earn a living wage.
