Professional Experience:
Jim is a vice president in the firm’s tax practice and has 18 years of experience consulting on federal, state, and international tax planning issues. Jim has served both public and private clients in a variety of industries including manufacturing, financial services, and consumer business. He has extensive knowledge in the area of accounting for income taxes, including financial statement disclosure, accounting for stock based compensation, and purchase accounting. He also has significant experience in the areas of corporate acquisitions and dispositions.

Since joining Caturano and Company, Jim has spent considerable time consulting with tax departments of public companies on the implementation of FIN 48, redesign of tax provision models, and refinement of controls in the area of accounting for income taxes. He has also expanded his expertise in the area of energy, with particular attention to federal incentives available to green energy projects.

Prior to joining the firm, Jim spent his career at national accounting firms, where he often worked closely with their national offices on select high profile retail and financial services clients. Jim also teamed with quality assurance leaders to resolve tax associated accounting issues for public clients. Jim has spent approximately half of his career servicing financial markets clients and the other half servicing multinational manufacturing and service industry clients.

Educational Background:
Bryant College: Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting
