Congratulations to Rich LaCross who has recently been selected to the AICPA PFS Exam Review Task Force.  The AICPA is establishing the PFS Exam Review Task Force to provide subject matter expertise in order to ensure a quality exam each year. The PFS Exam Review Task Force will be involved in the overall exam process. Caturano was recently recognized by Flo-Tech for its contribution towards protecting the environment, by participating in Flo-Tech's EnVision for the Environment Program.
 
EnVision for the Environment encompasses a multitude of programs and initiatives focused on sustainability including use of environmentally responsible printer supplies, recycling, and implementing best practices to optimize printing and imaging for the environment.

The recently enacted Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (“the Act”), which was signed into law on March 23, 2010 (P.L. 111-148, H.R. 3590), and was followed soon thereafter by the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (P.L. 101-508, H.R. 4872) (“the Reconciliation Act”), will result in significant tax changes for both businesses and individuals. The changes will be phased-in over the next several years, but planning in advance will better enable taxpayers to either maximize any tax advantages, or to minimize any disadvantages.

The Commissioner recently made changes to Form PTE-EX. Earlier versions of Form PTE-EX which have already been filed with the entity remain valid. However, pass-through entity members who executed the earlier version which was applicable for only one year, must renew the form for the 2010 tax year. The AICPA held its annual Employee Benefit Plan Accounting, Auditing and Regulatory update in Washington, DC in December.
